JACK SPRAGUE POST RACE QUOTES -
"Under the circumstances, that wasn't too bad," said
Sprague after the race. "We were pretty good there during the long green
flag run in the beginning of the race and again that last run, but for some
reason it took about 10 laps for the NetZero Pontiac to really get going
after we would pit for new tires. I don't know if it was tires or shocks or
something else completely, but it hurt us on the restarts. Once we got going
though, we ran times competitive with the leaders, so that makes us pretty
happy. We stayed out of trouble, kept our nose clean and had some pretty
good pit stops, so I'd say it was not a bad day for us at all."
NOTES OF INTEREST -
Jack Sprague was involved in an accident in the
final minutes of practice on Friday. The No. 0 Pontiac Grand Prix suffered
extensive damage to the front end and the NetZero Racing team was forced to
unload the backup car. The team managed to turn the backup car around
quickly enough for Sprague to make a qualifying run on Friday night, and he
posted the 42nd quickest time of 45 competitors. The team was given the
sixth provisional starting spot. The team then opted to make an engine
change and Sprague began the event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after
dropping to the rear of the field.
