Sprague makes his return to his home
state of Michigan for the running of the Sirius 400 this weekend at Michigan
International Speedway. Sprague, a native of Spring Lake, Michigan, has run two
Busch Series races and two Truck Series races on the 2.0-mile track. Despite
four top-15 finishes, Sprague considers MIS to be a track in which he has struggled
in the past.
SPRAGUE ON THE SIRIUS 400…
“I was really looking forward to a
couple of days of testing the NetZero HiSpeed Pontiac in Michigan, but we were
pretty much rained out when we came up here last week. We got on track for
a little while the first day and worked on race runs, but it was a little disappointing
not to be able to spend two solid days there. I haven’t run as strong
as I feel like I should have there in the past and I don’t know why.
I really don’t have any problem with the track itself, I just haven’t
run well. Hopefully, the afternoon that we got on the track helped us to
find something that will work for us when we get back there.
“Michigan is one of those tracks where you have to have everything working
perfectly. You need to have a good handling racecar, great horsepower and good
fuel mileage. If you haven’t got all three of those things working for
you then you could be in for a long day. We’ve gotten a lot better these
last couple of races and we need to keep the momentum flowing.”
