Jack Sprague and the NetZero HiSpeed
Racing team head to New Hampshire International Speedway this weekend for the
running of the New England 300. Though this is Sprague’s first Winston
Cup race on the 1.058-mile oval known as the Magic Mile, he earned two pole positions
and one victory at the track in the Truck Series.
SPRAGUE ON NEW HAMPSHIRE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY…"I’ve always
loved racing in Loudon. We had a bit of a struggle with the track for a while
in the Busch Series last year, but we finished okay and I’ve had a lot
of success there in the trucks. It’s a short track with long straightaways
so you have to have the car handling well in the corners and also have enough
motor to power you down the straights. Our NetZero HiSpeed Pontiacs are good
handling cars and we certainly have the horsepower we need with our Hendrick
Motors. The corners have been repaved since we were there last and there’s
no telling how much of a difference that will make, but everybody is in the
same boat. Tony Furr and I both have a lot of experience on this track and
I think we are expecting good things to happen for us this weekend.
“We were pretty disappointed after our misfortune last week since we
had a good car during the race in Chicago. We’ve had a tough couple of
weeks and we need to get this thing turned around. We’re a better race
team than our finishes show and the guys at Haas CNC Racing work their guts
out every week. It feels good to be going to New Hampshire International Speedway.
If there’s a track in the upcoming weeks that I would pick to get us
headed in the right direction, this would be it.”
