Jack Sprague Honored to Meet United
States Air Force Personnel at Dover Air Force Base
DOVER, DE - June 3, 2004 - Jack Sprague, driver of the #16 Chevy Trucks
Silverado, joined fellow Team Silverado drivers David Starr and Matt Crafton
meeting
and signing autographs for the men and women of the United States Air Force
stationed
at Dover Air Force Base. The trio were joined by a number of other top-drivers
from the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
"
Meeting the military personnel and their families at Dover Air Force Base was
an awesome experience," said Sprague. "While I know we are all
proud of our military, nothing brings the sacrifices they make for us and
the reality
of what it means than to go and meet the men and women and their families.
" It was really an honor for me and a humbling experience. I don't think
I have ever had the opportunity to meet more gracious people. It was a great
experience
and I hope we get more opportunities to go to other military bases."
Following the meet and great, Sprague and fellow drivers and their families
were treated to a guided tour of a C-5 transport plane.
"
That plane was unbelievable,"Sprague continued. "It is almost staggering
to see how big it is and learn how much it can carry. They told us it can weigh
almost 770,000 lb. at take off." That is so amazing!
" The crew members we met who took us on the tour were just awesome. Rhonda
and Paige were able to come with us. It was a great experience for all of us."
