Sprague Takes Over Wyler Racing Ride

"Past Champion Replaces Chaffin In Toyota Tundra"

MOORESVILLE, NC (October 8, 2005) - Wyler Racing has announced that effective immediately Jack Sprague will take over the wheel of the team's No. 60 Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Sprague, the only three time champion that the series has seen, replaces Chad Chaffin who has been with the team since its debut earlier this year in Milwaukee. Sprague has been signed through the 2006 season.

"I am very excited about this opportunity with the Wyler's and Toyota Motorsports," said Jack. "My time with XPress was awesome but we just decided it was time to part ways and luckily this position with Wyler became available to me. Jeff Wyler reminds me a lot of Rick Hendrick and that was the most comfortable situation I have ever had in my career. I have worked with Tony Furr (No. 60 crew chief) in the past and we really had fun so I expect some good times ahead for us. The Toyota trucks have been awesome all year and trust me I have noticed them as they passed me."

Sprague is the all-time leading money winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as well as holds the series record for most career poles (29) and is second in the all-time win column with 25 trips to victory lane. The 2005 season has been a trying one for Jack despite collecting a win earlier this season at Texas and sitting on the pole for the Milwaukee race. Jack currently sits in the 11th spot in the overall driver's standings - a mere 32 points out of the top-10.

Wyler Racing joined the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the end of June with their debut coming at The Milwaukee Mile. In 10 races thus far, the Wyler Racing Toyota has garnered two top-five starting positions and a best finish of ninth at New Hampshire last month.

"I am finding out quickly that this is one of the toughest parts of this sport," stated team owner Jeff Wyler. "It is with great regrets that we have to let Chad (Chaffin) go as he has done a great job for us and been nothing but 100% professional from day one. He was instrumental in helping us build this team from scratch and for that we are grateful. At the same time, we are excited about adding Jack Sprague to our growing race organization. He is one of the all-time greats in the truck series and we look forward to some great things with Jack."

Jack will go right to work with his new team and join them for a test session on Wednesday at Martinsville in preparation for his Wyler Racing debut at the paper-clip shaped short track on October 22nd.

"I really believe that we can win here at Wyler Racing in one of these last five races," concluded Sprague. "My goal is to use these last five races to get familiar with the team and the people at Toyota but I really think we can make some things happen. I really want to get back inside the top-10 in the points as I have never finished outside of that in my truck series career."
