Jack On Atlanta:
“I have always liked the track in Atlanta. It is fast
and wide which provides for plenty of passing opportunities
and always produces great finishes there. The Truck races
have always been exciting on the last lap and it seems like
the Cup race is always a side-by-side duel to the finish line
– that’s what makes Atlanta such a great place
to race. It is important to have your truck handling well
at all of the tracks we go to but you always have to deal
with the track position game regardless. Atlanta is a little
different because it is so fast and wide that it does allow
for plenty of passing opportunities – which makes it
a place where it is very crucial to have a good set-up under
you. This Wyler Racing team works hard on our Toyota’s
and I am confident we will have our No. 60 Protective Toyota
handling real well this week in Atlanta.”
Atlanta Testing:
Jack and his Wyler Racing team spent a day of testing last
week at the Atlanta Motor Speedway before they headed off
to the race in Martinsville.
“We had a really good test at Atlanta last week,”
said Jack. “I was really pleased with the way our Toyota
Tundra drove – I have never had something that drove
so well at that track and I have had some good runs there.
That provides us with some high hopes heading into this race.
I had a good truck in Atlanta in the spring race this year
and some bad luck in the pits relegated us to an eighth place
finish. We will work on making on truck even better than the
test with our practice sessions on Friday and if we do that
I think we will have a truck that is very capable of winning
on Saturday.”
Jack On Wyler Racing And Toyota Motorsports Debut:
“I am really excited after my debut with this Wyler
Racing team last week. Our No. 60 Tundra was fast right off
the trailer and we sat atop the speed charts after the only
practice session. We seemed to loose a bit of our handling
right before qualifying but we still had one of the best trucks
on the track in the early stages of the race. We got caught
up in some bad luck which can easily happen at a place like
Martinsville – so while I am disappointed with the finish
we had, I am equally excited with how well we ran. This is
a great opportunity I have with this Wyler Racing program
as well as Toyota and I think these last four races we will
have some strong showings.”
Notes:
- Jack will be making his 219th career start in the Craftsman
Truck Series this week.
- Jack has one win to his credit so far this season (Texas)
and has collected one pole as well (Milwaukee).
