Jack Sprague and Wyler Racing
"All In" With Bicycle Poker Chips
“Oldest Playing Card manufacturer
in US inks Associate Sponsorship with 3-Time Champion”
February 10, 2006 (Mooresville,
North Carolina) – Wyler Racing announced
today that US Playing Cards (USPC) has signed on as Associate
Sponsor for the 2006 season on the No. 60 Con-Way Toyota
Tundra fielded by Wyler Racing and piloted by three time
series champion Jack Sprague in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series.
The United States Playing Card Company will utilize their
sponsorship program to promote their Bicycle clay-filled
Poker chips product. USPC, best known for producing
Bicycle – “America’s Favorite Playing
Card” – expects the same distinction for their
clay-filled poker chips.
“We have had success with a regional racing program
in selling our clay filled Poker chips and are looking to
take it to the next level, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series,” says
Bill Schildman, Director of Sales for USPC. “We looked
at the Wyler Racing Team with driver Jack Sprague, crew chief
Tony Furr and realized they represent a quality Team -the
same high quality message we want NASCAR consumers to realize
about our poker chips. I think it is exciting we are
able to support a NASCAR Truck team that is owned by another
Cincinnati based company.”
The United States Playing Card Company is the manufacturer
of The World’s Leading Playing Card Brands. You’ll
find poker sets, chips and playing cards, including bridge
ensembles with tallies and score cards, collectible cards
and more. The United States Playing Card Company is the leader
in the production and distribution of premier brands of playing
cards, including BEE®, BICYCLE®, AVIATOR® and
HOYLE® playing cards. BICYCLE® has been the
best selling playing card brand in the world for more than
100 years. The privately held company is based in Cincinnati,
Ohio since it’s founding in 1867.
Wyler Racing is owned by Jeff Wyler of the Cincinnati-based
Jeff Wyler Automotive Family of Dealerships and has been
a contender since its inception into the series in June of
2005. The team looks as if they have the backing to
carry the momentum into the 2006 Craftsman Truck Series season
after just signing primary sponsor Con-Way Transportation
Services, Inc. last month.
“We are extremely excited about our new association
with the oldest playing card and poker chip companies from
here in our backyard,” team president David Wyler commented. “They
have built a reputation in their industry for superior service
and quality customer service that mirrors the Wyler organization. Together
with Con-Way, the US Playing Card Company, driver Jack Sprague
and the team that Crew Chief Tony Furr has put together,
we believe we are in championship form for the 2006 season.”
Driver Jack Sprague, who made the switch from Chevrolet
for the first time in his career to Toyota, finished out
the 2005 season with Wyler Racing competing in the last five
events. He dominated the fall 2005 Atlanta race leading 45
laps before a last turn accident spoiled the win. Sprague
went on to bring home the team’s best finish at the
season finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in the second
place position - providing the momentum they plan on carrying
into the 2006 season.
“Well, I’ll be pretty popular in the garage
this year,” Jack Sprague smiled as he commented. “There
are a lot of us guys that play poker at night and during
rain delays, so I guess they’ll want me to supply the
poker sets. Seriously, we have some awesome sponsors
behind us this year – Con-Way and now with the US Playing
Card Company onboard – we are going to have one heck
of a season and a lot of fun running for the championship. I
am so impressed with how the Wyler’s have put a championship
caliber team together in 8 months. It is very difficult
to find sponsorship and to have a primary and an associate
sponsor for this year speaks volumes for the quality people
and businessmen Jeff (Wyler) and David (Wyler) are.”
Wyler Racing also announced this week that Huntington Bank
and Cintas will be additional sponsors of the No. 60 Toyota
Tundra.
