Jack comments on the Daytona
International Speedway and the 2006 Season:
"For some reason, I haven't been able to have
good results from this race. Last year we were
running 5th or 6th and were headed to the front
when disaster struck again. We could have
finished at least 2nd if not won the thing if
that wouldn't have happened. In 2001, I
had a decent run and we finished 12th and went
on to win the NCTS championship. That is
what I am going to attempt to do again in 2006
- Win the Championship for Con-Way and Wyler
Racing."
Jack discusses racing on Superspeedway
Tracks:
"Superspeedway races are a roll-of-the-dice
in many ways. Things happen so quickly out there
that you can get caught up in something and taken
out in a blink of an eye. Our goal is to have
a good solid run. Obviously we want to take our
Con-Way Tundra to victory lane but we also know
that it comes down to the end and who is your
partner in the draft. The key is to stay in the
lead pack, steer clear of trouble, give your
crew the feedback they need during the race to
make changes that will help at the end when everyone
is dancing with partners to go to the front and
get the win."
Jack on partnering with Con-Way
Racing:
"With Con-Way aboard we have already taken
our first step towards a championship year. This
series has grown so much since its beginnings
and it really speaks volumes for the sport of
truck racing when an organization of Con-Way's
caliber comes aboard. It is exciting to
have our first race with Con-Way be at the World
Center of Speed - the Daytona International Speedway. This
place has so much history of talented drivers
and races and I hope to give the employees and
customers of Con-Way a good show."
