Sprague To Sport New Con-way Freight Logo
And Colors Beginning At St. Louis
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 21, 2006) – Jack
Sprague and his No. 60 Toyota Tundra truck will unveil a new
Con-way Freight logo and paint scheme beginning with the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series race at Gateway International Raceway
next weekend.
The new look results from of a major re-branding initiative
that renamed CNF, a San Mateo, California-based transportation
company, Con-way Inc. The change also affected the company's
three less-than-truckload regional commercial freight carriers
by putting them under the new Con-way Freight brand. The new
logo on Sprague's Toyota Tundra will now say Con-way Freight
on the hood, rear quarter panels and back panel. The new paint
scheme features blue swishes moving from the door of the truck
to the rear quarter panel, and a bright red No. 60 on the
doors and roof of the truck.
The new truck graphics are part of a Con-way company-wide
re-branding initiative that includes new logos and striping
for its trucks and trailers, building signage, uniforms, business
forms, web sites, sales, marketing and advertising materials.
Complete conversion to the company’s new graphic identity
is expected to take 24-36 months. Effective April 18 the company
also has a new New York Stock Exchange symbol, CNW.
Sprague will hit the track with the new No. 60 Con-way Freight
Toyota at Gateway International Raceway, a track where Sprague
has one victory (2000) and four top-10 finishes in the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series.
He will pilot Con-way Freight’s new colors for the
remainder of the 2006 season.
“It’s pretty cool to be one of the first trucks
with the new Con-way colors out on the road,” Sprague
said. “Con-way has a lot of great drivers out there,
and I am proud to represent them and the new brand on the
race track. St. Louis has been a good track for me in the
past. The Wyler Racing team got off to a great start this
year, but things really haven’t gone our way the past
two races. Hopefully, the new colors will bring us some luck
and help get the No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota up front again.”
Sprague and the Wyler Racing team have two top-five finishes
in four starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this
season and currently sit seventh in the points standings.
“I’m excited about the new colors,” Sprague
said. “After all, I’ve done pretty good in blue,
white and red race trucks in the past. Hopefully, I’ll
have the same luck in the Con-way Toyota, and we’ll
have the No. 60 in victory lane at St. Louis.”
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returns to action next
Saturday, April 29 at 7:15 p.m. ET from Gateway International
Raceway in St. Louis. The Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers
Ram Tough 200 can be seen on SPEED beginning at 7 p.m. ET
and heard on MRN and XM Satellite Radio.
