Sprague On Charlotte:
“I love racing at Charlotte, and there is nothing
more that I want to do than win here in our own backyard.
A win here would just be incredibly special since this is
the home track for so many of these teams. Last week, our
Wyler Racing Team had a great test at Chicago, and I think
we made some pretty good gains on the race truck. The test
at Charlotte on Thursday is really going to tell us a lot
about what to expect in the race. I’m really confident
that the Con-way Freight Toyota is going to be one of the
top running trucks at Charlotte this Friday night.”
Career at Lowe’s Motor Speedway:
Sprague has two career starts at Lowe’s Motor Speedway
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck. He has 11 Busch and Nextel
Cup Series starts combined. Sprague has one pole in Busch
Series competition at the track (1991) and two top-10 finishes
in the Busch Series at Charlotte.

Sprague On the Wyler Racing Team:
“I can’t say enough about this No. 60
Con-way Freight Toyota and the team that works on it. This
team is only 11 months old and look at what they have accomplished
in such a short amount of time. We’ve had three top-fives
already this year, and we’ve had a good truck every
single outing. I know that this team is just knocking on
the door of victory lane. It’s only a matter of time
before we are celebrating our first win as a team and with
our sponsor, Con-way Freight. I really think our trip
is going to be sooner rather than later.”
Sprague and Con-way Team up at ‘Craftsman
For a Cure’ Event:
Sprague is one of about 30 drivers participating in the ‘Craftsman
For a Cure’ charity event at NASCAR SpeedPark on Tuesday,
May 23. The event benefits the American Cancer Society Relay
For Life and the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Sprague will
be signing autographs with other Toyota drivers from 6:30-7:15
p.m. He will also race go-karts with fans from 7:20-7:40
p.m. Sprague’s sponsor, Con-way Freight, purchased
all the tickets for Sprague’s go-kart race so that
their employees and families could spend time with Sprague
away from the race track. Con-way Freight also made a monetary
donation to the event.
“It’s really cool as a driver to see your sponsor
get involved in the NASCAR community, especially a sponsor
like Con-way Freight who is new to the sport,” Sprague
said. “When ‘Craftsman For a Cure’ was
announced, they jumped right on board by buying tickets for
their employees and making a very generous donation. It means
a lot to me to know that I work with a sponsor like Con-way
Freight who cares about the community. Bobby Hamilton is
a good friend of mine, and with the support of Con-way Freight
and other race sponsors and fans, we can really make a difference
and raise a great deal of money for some very good causes.”
Notes:
- Sprague will be making his 228th career start in the
Craftsman Truck Series this week.
- Sprague has 25 career victories (2nd highest in the Series)
and 28 career poles.
- Sprague finished fifth in each of the first two events
(Daytona and California) of the 2006 season. He finished
fourth at Gateway.
