Sprague On His Sponsor Con-way Freight Also Being The
Title Sponsor of the Race:
“It’s cool for a driver to have a sponsor like Con-way
Freight. They are still pretty new to NASCAR, but they are loving
every minute of their sponsorship. Here’s a sponsor that came
into the sport in February, and they are so thrilled with the program
that they are already sponsoring a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
race, too.”
“For me, it’s really important for the No. 60 Toyota
to be out front at Michigan this weekend because Con-way is really
blowing it out in a big way to celebrate their sponsorship of the
Con-way Freight 200. My sponsor (Con-way Freight) is based about
45 minutes from the track in Ann Arbor and they are bringing a thousand
or more employees and customers to celebrate their title sponsorship
of the race and the No. 60 Toyota. I can’t tell you how badly
I want to bring home the checkered flag for them as thanks for their
support.”
Career at Michigan International Speedway:
Sprague has four career starts at Michigan International Speedway
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series – with a career best finish
of fourth. He also has three starts in NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup
competition combined.

Sprague On Racing at His Home Track:
Michigan International Speedway is considered the home track for
the Spring Lake (Mich.) native, but his luck hasn’t been the
best at the two-mile oval for the three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series champion. Sprague hopes to turn that around this weekend in
his sponsor’s race, the Con-way Freight 200.
For Sprague, there might be some added confidence knowing that the
2004 race sponsor’s truck went to Victory Lane at Michigan
International Speedway. (The No. 24 Line-X Toyota driven by Travis
Kvapil won the Line-X 200 at Michigan in 2004).
“Racing at Michigan International Speedway is always special
to me because I still have a lot of family and friends and even a
home in Michigan. It’s pretty neat to go to a track, and have
a lot of support from the fans. I guess in some ways, I’m the
home town favorite. This year, we’ll have a lot of extra support
from all the Con-way Freight employees and customers who will be
there at the race. To get a win at my home track would be pretty
cool. But I really want to win this weekend for Con-way. This race
is right in their backyard, and a win at Michigan in their race would
mean the world to all the people they are bringing. I hope that I
can pay back Con-way for all of their support this season by driving
the No. 60 truck into Victory Lane at Michigan.”
Notes:
- Sprague will make his 232nd career start
at Michigan in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series this week.
- Sprague has 25 career victories (2nd
highest in the Series) and 28 career poles.
