Sprague On Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway:
This season, Jack Sprague has done well at Tennessee race tracks.
He has a win at Memphis and a second at Nashville. With the third
race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season coming up this week
at Bristol Motor Speedway, Sprague hopes to keep his record at the
Tennessee tracks solid. With one win and six top-10s in seven starts
in truck series competition at Bristol, Sprague seems set to have
another good night in Tennessee.
“Maybe I should move there,” Sprague laughed. “These
Tennessee race tracks seem to suit me and this Con-way Freight
Toyota. We have run really well at Memphis and at Nashville,
and I have won at Bristol before, so I would say that the Wyler Racing
team has a pretty good shot at Bristol. The key is to qualify well
and to keep our nose clean – which isn’t easy. Bristol
is very mentally and physically demanding race track. Things happen
so fast that you don’t have the chance to see things unfolding
in front of you. But if you can keep your truck in good shape until
the end of the race and if you can stay near the front, then you
will have a chance to celebrate a win at the end of the night. It’s
a difficult race, but I think this Con-way Freight team is up for
the challenge.”
Career at Bristol Motor Speedway:
Sprague has 15 combined starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series,
the NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series at one of
the smallest race tracks on the circuit. His best record at Bristol
Motor Speedway is in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where Sprague
has collected one win (1999) and six top-10 finishes in seven starts.

Sprague On The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Points Chase:
“This point’s chase is so tight right now. The
fact that you can pick up so many spots or lose just as many in one
week proves just how hard, how competitive and how close the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has become. Our goal every week
is to go out there, lead some laps, and have a solid finish - that's
what it takes to have a good point’s day and to stay in the
thick of this chase for another championship. And coming out of Bristol
with a good point’s day is crucial in the long run.”
