Sprague Continues Hot Streak At Favorite Track:
“Phoenix is probably my most favorite track on the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. It’s where I got
my first ever win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, so it has
a special place in my heart. The track reminds me a lot of a bigger
version of the Concord (NC) Motorsports Park where I did a lot of
late model racing early in my career. So I guess I have always
been comfortable behind the wheel at Phoenix.
“I have had a lot of success at the track over the years – I
had three wins there in the late 1990’s there, and I have accumulated
something like five poles as well. So for me, I couldn't think of
a track that I would rather race at right now in the season. This
Wyler Racing team has really hit our stride. After a string of bad
luck, things seem to be coming together for us right now. Since our
mascot ‘Monkey’ joined the travel team at Martinsville,
we’ve had some good luck – a win, a top-10 and a top-five.
We want to continue that this weekend, and with my affection for
Phoenix – I think this could be a great weekend for us.
Career at Phoenix International Raceway:
It’s hard to bet against Jack Sprague in the “Valley
of the Sun.” In 13 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts, Sprague
has three wins and just two finishes outside of the top 10. In fact,
of his 11 top-10s at the one-mile track, eight of those finishes
were either a win or the runner-up.
“Con-way Freight announced last week that they’ll be
back with our team next season, and we’re really excited that
they have been happy with our performance on and off the race track.
I have had a lot of great sponsors during my career and Con-way ranks
right up there on the top of the list for me. I am the lucky driver
to work with these two great organizations – Wyler Racing and
Con-way Freight. We’ve had a good season with two wins and
two poles, but we’re greedy and we want more than that.
“More than anything, we want to finish off the season on a
high note and build some momentum for a run at the 2007 championship.
We're still shooting for a top-five points finish, which is completely
possible. I can't think of a better way to get that top-five points
finish than going out and winning in my No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota
this weekend at Phoenix.”
