Jack Sprague on Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS):
For Jack Sprague, Atlanta Motor Speedway’s motto of “Real
Racing. Real Fast.” holds true. “There is no doubt
that the track in Atlanta produces some of the most exciting racing
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series,” Sprague explains. “The
track is fast and wide which allows for great side by side racing
as well as a lot of passing. If you get your truck handling
well then you can stay in the gas longer and will be one of the fastest
trucks out there.”
Sprague to Make His 250th Career NCTS Start at AMS:
"Wow, I didn't realize it was going to be my 250th career start
in the Craftsman Truck Series until someone said something to me
the other day. That is pretty cool. Who would have thought
it would have come to this when I competed in my first truck race
back in 1995. Everything has come along way during that time
and I have as well, but I am very proud to be making this start. I
have tested the waters in the NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup Series,
but the Truck Series has just been something special for me and a
place that I can call home. I have been very fortunate during
my career to win three Championships in the Craftsman Truck Series
and race for some great organizations. But I must say that
I am having the most fun in my racing career right now racing for
Wyler Racing and Con-way Freight. Last year I won at Martinsville
- a track I never thought I would win at - and now, to kick off the
2007 season, I went out and won Daytona - another place I never thought
I would win at. This is a very special time right now in a
lot of ways and to make a monumental start like No. 250 is pretty
cool. And what are the odds of two drivers (Rick Crawford and
I) doing it at the same time?"
Sprague and Crawford to Call-In to the SpeedZone:

show, which is broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga., takes place every

Sprague’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Career Stats at
Atlanta:
Jack Sprague feels like Atlanta Motor Speedway “may owe (him)
one.” To date, a win has eluded the three-time Series’ Champion
at the 1.54-mile oval. His best finish of fourth came in 2005
while driving the No. 60 Jeff Wyler Toyota Tundra. But don’t
let his stats fool you. Sprague was leading by a sizeable margin
with less than 10 laps to go in that race, but an ill-timed caution
and fresh tires came out the winner. In only five starts, Sprague
has one top-five, and three top-10 finishes, including a top-10 run
last year while driving the No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra.

Sprague’s History at Atlanta Motor Speedway:
Atlanta Motor Speedway is one of only eight tracks on the 2007 NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series schedule that Jack Sprague does not own a
win, but he hopes to change that as the Series’ returns to
AMS for the American Commercial Lines 200. “The guys
on this Wyler Racing team have done an awesome job the first two
races in making our Con-Way Freight Tundra real fast and I expect
it will be the same this week in Atlanta,” Sprague said. “We
had the best truck in Atlanta in the fall of 2005 but we got beat
by tires and a badly timed caution,” he said. “We
had a dominant truck all day and there in the second half of the
race no one could keep up with us and I thought for sure I was going
to win. We had a pretty good sized lead there with less than ten
laps to go and the caution came out. A few guys came in and gave
up track position to get tires and that proved to be the difference.
That race was only my second race with the Wyler Racing team and
Toyota and we’ve been on a good roll since – I think
Atlanta may owe me one.”
