Jack Sprague – No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra AAA Insurance 200 Race Preview

Dover International Speedway - Race 8 of 25 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series; Racetrack:  Dover International Speedway;  Race:  AAA Insurance 200;  Location:  Dover, DE;  Track Length:  1-Mile Banked Concrete Oval;  Race Distance:  200 Laps / 200 Miles;  Broadcast Coverage:  SPEED;  Radio Coverage:  MRN;  Date:  Friday, June 1st, 2007;  Time:  4:45 p.m. ET.

Jack Sprague on Dover International Speedway:
"Dover is downright demanding for a driver," Sprague said. "But I'm excited about the challenge. Dover adds a little bit different flavor to our schedule; kind of like Daytona did to start the season.”

Jack Sprague on His Chances for a Win at Dover:

“I really think this Wyler Racing team is primed to have a good run at Dover International Speedway this weekend,” explained Sprague.  “I love racing at Dover.  There’s a wide racing groove, so there is plenty of room to pass. I almost won a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover in 2001, and I came close to winning in the Busch car twice. With this No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota team coming off a good start to the 2007 season, I feel confident that it’s our turn to celebrate in Victory Lane this weekend.”

Jack Sprague on His Championship Bid:
With a win at Dover International Speedway eluding him so far, Sprague hopes to leave Dover this weekend with his career first win at the 1-mile oval under his belt.  “I’d love to win at Dover, but we also need to run strong, avoid any problems, and have a good point’s day.  That's the things that win championships.  You don't have to win these races.  Don't get me wrong, we all want to win. But you have to eliminate the bad days as much as possible.  We’re hoping for a good day in Dover.”

Jack Sprague on Competing with Ron Hornaday, Jr.:
“For years, I’ve had a little personal competition with (Ron) Hornaday,” said Sprague.  “We’re good friends, and we always try to outdo the other. I have three Championships, he has two. I have 28 all-time wins, and he has 30. I want to get my No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota into Victory Lane a few more times to even up the score!”

Jack Sprague to Sign Autographs in Dover’s “Champions” Autograph Session:
Jack Sprague will sign autographs alongside five other active NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champions on Friday before the race.  The autograph session is free for fans between 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Craftsman display in the Fan Zone area, located outside of turn four at the track.  Other’s participating include Todd Bodine (2006), Ted Musgrave (2005), Travis Kvapil (2003), Ron Hornaday, Jr. (1996 & 1998), and Mike Skinner (1995).  Sprague’s Championships came in 1997, 1999 and 2001.

Sprague’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Career Stats at Dover International Speedway:
It’s quite a surprise that Sprague hasn’t scored a win at Dover International Speedway (DIS) yet.  Sprague has ran in all three of NASCAR’s top-tier divisions at DIS and has amassed 13 starts, over 2,310 laps, four top-five and six top-10 finishes over the course of his career.  Sprague’s best finish at DIS came in 2001 after he finished 2nd to Scott Riggs in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series MBNA E-Commerce 200 after leading 69 laps.  Sprague hopes to lead just one lap at DIS this weekend – the final one – in the AAA Insurance 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at DIS.
