Jack Sprague – No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 Race Preview

Jack Sprague on Gateway International Raceway:
“I love Gateway,” said Jack Sprague.  “It is a driver’s track with the configuration being different at each end.  If you have a pretty neutral truck you can get it through both ends pretty decent even though the corners are so different.  If you have a truck that is very good in one and two, you will be ok in three and four.”

Jack Sprague on Finding Victory Lane Again at Gateway:

Victory Lane at Gateway is something familiar to Sprague who grabbed his first and only win there in 2000 after qualifying on the outside pole.  Sprague has only finished outside of the top-10 twice, once due to an unavoidable crash.  Throughout his career, Sprague has led 266 laps around the odd-shaped oval.  “I have won at Gateway before, so I would say that the Wyler Racing team has a pretty good shot of winning at Gateway,” said Sprague.  “It’s a difficult race, but I think my Con-way Freight team is up for the challenge.”

Jack Sprague on his Chance for a Win on Saturday:
Even though Gateway presents challenges with its asymmetrical shape, Sprague has his mind set on coming out of Gateway with a win.  “This Con-way Freight team is determined to leave Gateway with a victory,” said Sprague.

Jack Sprague on What it Takes to Win:
“You have to have a team who understands how to give you the truck you need week in and week out and I have that with our No. 60 Con-way Freight team,” said Sprague.  “Tony Furr and the guys do a great job of preparing our Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra’s and we have fast trucks every week.  I’m confident going into Gateway that we will be one of the team’s to beat in Saturday’s show.”

This Week’s Toyota Tid-Bit:

Toyota has been involved in professional Motorsports in the U.S. for more than 25 years and has won races and championships in various series from open-wheel Indy cars to sports cars to off-road trucks to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.  Toyota is the defending Manufacturer’s Champion in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and currently leads the 2007 title chase.

Sprague’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Career Stats at Gateway International Raceway:

To say that Jack Sprague’s statistics at Gateway International Raceway are impressive would be an understatement.  Extraordinary may be a better way to define his history at the 1.25-mile oval, but his remarkable achievements certainly speak for themselves.  Sprague, who is the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ only three-time Series’ Champion, has raced in seven Craftsman Truck Series events at Gateway International Raceway and has one win, four top-five and five top-10 finishes to his name.  As a matter of fact, Sprague has never started outside of the top-10 at Gateway.
