Jack Sprague – No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra Kroger 200 Race Preview
Jack Sprague on Racing at Martinsville Speedway:
“I've always qualified pretty well at Martinsville, but I never could finish on top until last fall. I wish I could put my finger on what makes it so hard to race there, but it’s just a really difficult track. It's never been one of my favorite places to race because you think that you are good during practice, but then when you get on the track during the race, things change.”
Martinsville Marks a Milestone for Sprague:
When Jack Sprague takes the green flag for the Kroger 200, he will be setting a personal milestone. Sprague will make his 400th career NASCAR start on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway. Sprague has 267 Craftsman Truck Series, 108 Busch Series, and 24 Nextel Cup Series starts to his credit to date.
Jack Sprague to Sport a Special Scheme:
Jack Sprague and the Wyler Racing team will sport a special paint scheme at Martinsville Speedway for Saturday’s running of the Kroger 200. This is the same paint scheme that the team raced at Martinsville in the Spring and at Mansfield Speedway in May. This unique paint scheme features blue, white, and yellow colors with Con-way Freight signage on the hood, rear quarter panels, and TV panel. Diecast replicas are available for purchase online by visiting Con-way Freight’s website at www.con-way.com/freight.
Jack Sprague is the Defending Race Winner:
Last fall, Jack Sprague and the Wyler Racing team raced their way into Victory Lane at Martinsville Speedway. “To win at Martinsville was huge for me because I never seem to run good there,” explained Sprague. “Up until last fall, I had a couple of third place finishes, but I always struggled every time I went there. But we came back to Martinsville last fall with a whole different set up thanks to a fellow Toyota team. We were good in both practices, and we won the pole, so I knew the truck was good. It was finally our day and everything went our way.”
Wyler Racing Recognizes National Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) and as a tribute to those affected by the disease, Wyler Racing’s No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota will carry the symbolic pink ribbon at the two remaining NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in the month of October. Wyler Racing hopes to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the need for continual screening by promoting NBCAM.
This Week’s Toyota Tid-Bit:
The Toyota NASCAR programs are managed from company headquarters in Torrance, California.
Sprague’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Career Stats at Martinsville Speedway:
Jack Sprague has a notable record at Martinsville Speedway, including seven top-10 finishes in only 14 starts. Sprague has five top-five finishes at Martinsville Speedway and first saw Victory Lane at the Virginia short-track last fall after qualifying on the pole and leading 95 laps. The three-time Series’ Champion hopes to race his way back to Victory Lane again while driving the No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra this weekend in the Kroger 200.
