Jack Sprague No. 2 American Commercial Lines Chevrolet Team Race Preview NASCAR Truck Series Race 13 of 25 — Kentucky Speedway

SIX IN A ROW:  Jack Sprague holds the Truck Series record with at least three victories per year for six consecutive seasons (1996-2001). With his win at Memphis, Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) teammate Ron Hornaday has matched Sprague with six seasons of three or more victories, but Hornaday’s are not consecutive (1996-98, 2006-2008).

ACL FAN FEST: KHI partner American Commercial Lines (ACL) will host a Fan Festival at their corporate headquarters in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Thursday, July 17th.  KHI Truck Series drivers Jack Sprague and Ron Hornaday will be in attendance along with ARCA drivers Frank and Will Kimmel and Gabby Dicarlo.  There will be food, fun and music by artist Leigh Ann Yost; plus prize giveaways including dozens of tickets to the Built Ford Tough 225 at the Kentucky Speedway. Sprague and Hornaday will also participate in a barge launch of a new ACL vessel.

Jack Sprague Quotes:

CAN YOU COMPARE KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY TO ANOTHER TRACK ON THE CIRCUIT?

“Kentucky is an asphalt version of Nashville, but you carry a lot more speed into the corners at Kentucky than you do in Nashville. The corners at each venue are banked the same but you have to come off the corners at Kentucky at a slightly different angle.”

WHAT CAN FANS EXPECT TO SEE FROM THE RACING AT KENTUCKY?

“Kentucky is nice because over the years it has become a two-groove race track.  We race in the evening so the track is not as slick as it is during the day.  Fans can expect to see what they see each week in the Truck Series: good, hard, old-fashioned racing.  This year the competition has been extra tough.  Kentucky is very fast and as long as you can keep your truck from going to the tight side by the end of the night, you should have a good day.”

CHASSIS HISTORY: The Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) No. 2 ACL team will be taking chassis No. 028 to Kentucky Speedway.  This is a brand-new chassis with no laps on the race track, but has been tested in the wind tunnel and produced promising aerodynamic statistics.  No. 028 is a chassis very similar to the truck the team ran at Kansas Speedway where they recorded their first runner-up finish of 2008.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Two weeks ago at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park, Sprague and the No. 2 ACL Chevrolet came back from an early pit road mishap to finish the race in the sixth position.  Sprague gained one spot in the point standings moving up to eighth, 164 markers out of first.
