Jack Sprague Quotes:
NASHVILLE IS THE SECOND CONCREATE TRACK OF THE SEASON. YOU HAD QUITE A BIT OF SUCCESS AT DOVER IN THE SPRING. DO YOU THINK THAT WILL CARRY OVER TO THIS WEEKEND IN NASHVILLE?
“Nashville and Dover are very different tracks. Even though they are both concrete they are configured completely different. Nashville drives most similar to Kentucky; you have to use a lot brake as you sail off the long straightaways into the heavily banked turns. I have not had the best of luck at Nashville in the past, but I was really pleased with the information we learned from the Chicago test, plus we had a rocket ship of a truck in Kentucky and we are bringing that same truck to Nashville. Had we not broken a motor in Kentucky, we would have been hard to beat.
WITH THE SEASON AT THE HALF WAY POINT, WHAT GRADE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF AND THE NO. 2 TEAM?
“I would give us a B. Even though our results don’t show it, we have run really well. Our team has come together in a very short period of time. We still have a few bugs to be worked out here and there, but all in all we’re a good quality team. I believed from the beginning of this season that we are a championship-caliber team and I still believe that. Ernie (Cope, crew chief) and the guys bring me quality, fast trucks to the track week in and week out. It is just unfortunate that we have been victims of circumstances beyond our control.”
CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 Camping World team will bring truck 028 to Nashville. Chassis 028 saw track time at Kentucky Speedway. Chassis 028 was the fastest truck in the final practice session in Kentucky. The team recently took chassis No. 028 to a test session at Chicagoland (Ill.)Speedway.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Sprague and the No. 2 Camping World team ran in the top 10 for the majority of the race two weeks ago at O’Reilly Raceway Park (ORP). However, on lap 188, a late race multi-truck crash ahead of Sprague collected the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet. The incident caused major right-front fender damage. Sprague had to bring the truck down pit road for a late pit stop and crossed the finish line in the 17th position.
